Music is in the Air
Once again, the sound of music is in the air at Twin Oaks, as students are preparing for their holiday performances! Every student will be actively participating in their music program with singing, instrument playing, movement, and drama.
The classes of Victoria, Hamel, Slaeker, Riggs, Miller, and Squires will be presenting “The Velveteen Rabbit,” on December 9th, with two performances at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Twin Oaks Gym.
We hope you will be able to join us for this classic, fun evening of music and drama. Please contact Mrs. Delph if your child will be unable to make it that evening, because every student will be an important part of our presentation.
The classes of Chinn, Jurden, and Weston, will be presenting an “Informance” later on January 20th in the Twin Oaks gym at 6:30 p.m. We are fortunate at our school to provide students with music instruction 2-3 times each week for 30 minutes. Students will be sharing dances, songs, and other activities they have been learning in their music classes. It will be an opportunity for parents to see what types of activities and curriculum your child is experiencing in music in kindergarten and first grade. You will also be able to see how our curriculum is aligned with the National Arts Standards.
Our Twin Oaks Choir is off to a great start this year with 34 eager and motivated 4th/5th grade singers. We will be spreading holiday cheer at the “Holiday Market,” at the fairgrounds, and at Churchill Estates Retirement facility, both on December 13th. Thank you so much for your support of this endeavor, and to parents, for promptly picking your singers up at 3:45 p.m.
If you are able and willing to help with our evening music programs, we will need help with scenery, costumes and props. You don’t need to be artistically gifted to help, just a willing heart!
Thank you so much for your support of music at Twin Oaks
